This piece was created the first year of the global pandemic of 2020. I wanted the piece to convey the difficulty of the time and the isolation. I don’t know if this tea drinker will have someone to chin wag with or not. So many people were isolated during the pandemic and so the problem solving aspect of tea and the communal aspect of tea are part of the concept behind this piece.
This piece is in two virtual shows, one with WA state SDA and in the Columbia Fiber Arts Guild website show in 2022.
A close up of a section of the quilt. The flames were created with Angelina Fibers and rayon thread stitching.
